DESCRIPTION:La Organización Mundial del Turismo conjuntamente con las Universidades de Salamanca y La Sorbonne\, organizan este I Seminario Internacional con el que se pretende analizar los dos años de vigencia del Código Internacional de Protección de los Turistas\, además de contribuir a establecer  el Derecho del Turismo como una rama propia del ordenamiento jurídico. \nLa reunión servirá también para que expertos del mundo académico y profesionales del sector público y privado pongan en común conocimientos y experiencias a través de las distintas mesas redondas\, que en torno a los capítulos del Código\, se celebrarán permitiendo\, en consecuencia\, ser un punto de partida para establecer los desafíos que se habrán de seguir en los próximos años. \nThe World Tourism Organisation\, together with the Universities of Salamanca and La Sorbonne\, are organising this 1st International Seminar which aims to analyse the two years that the International Code for the Protection of Tourists has been in force\, as well as to contribute to establishing Tourism Law as a branch of the legal system in its own right. \nThe meeting will also enable experts from the academic world and professionals from the public and private sectors to share their knowledge and experiences through the various round tables that will be held on the chapters of the Code\, thus providing a starting point for establishing the challenges to be followed in the coming years. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:What are data spaces? \nData spaces arise due to the fact that large American platforms are the current owners of European citizens’ data. \nThe regulations that European companies have to follow do not make them competitive\, since in the USA\, the regulations are much less demanding in terms of privacy\, while European data protection law is very strict. \nThe aim is to compete on equal terms\, protecting data and consumer rights. \n  \nPROJECT OBJECTIVES \nEuropean reference framework: \nThe aim of the European data strategy is to create a genuine single market for data. This will drive growth and create value\, while minimising the human carbon and environmental footprint. \nThe main objective of DATES is to explore approaches and options for the deployment of a secure and reliable tourism data space\, ensuring transparent control of access\, use and re-use of data. The project will therefore focus on the development of governance and business models. \nMore broadly\, the outcome of the activity will support the digital transformation of the sector\, fostering competitiveness\, resilience and sustainability as key success factors for maintaining Europe’s leadership. \nmore info
