The main objective of DATES is to explore approaches and options for the deployment of a secure and trusted tourism data space, ensuring transparent control of data access, use and re-use
The project, launched in November 2022, has carried out an intense mapping of data sharing initiatives with the support of the project partners.

All these iniciatives are now available thorugh our website:

Data Sharing Iniciatives Inventory

EVENTS

DATES have actively participated and organised several events to disseminate the project’s activities and to continue increasing and consolidating the community hat we believe perfectly capture the essence of the DATES project mission

Data Space Symposium

DATA SPACE SYMPOSIUM

Data Space Symposium, organised in The Hague on the 21-23 March 2023.
It was a great meeting point with several initiatives related to data spaces, and most of DATES’ partners were present.

DATES was participating in two sessions. In one session together with our sister project DSFT, the DS4SCC and the DS4Mobility. During this session we discussed the common approaches between
the two projects on tourism and we explained the next steps to produce a joint blueprint.

And in another one with the Data Space of Cultural Heritage and the Green Deal Data Space. It was stated the clear synergies that exists among all data spaces and the transversality of the tourism industry

DATA SPACE SYMPOSIUM 2

European Tourism Day

ruropean tourism day 1

On the 5th May, and after some years without this important celebration, the European Commission organised again a big event to celebrate the European Tourism Day in Brussels at the Charlemagne Building. DATES project, represented by Dolores Ordóñez together with the sister project, DSFT, represented by Jason Stienmetz were invited to participate as speakers and to explain what is being done in the framework of the European Tourism Data Space, together with other speakers, as our partner ARCTUR, represented by Urska Starc-Peceny

Coalition Workshop

europeqan tourism day 2

On the 28th March, it was organised by our partner Intellera the coalition workshop, with more than 50 participants.
The aim of the workshop was to co-create, together with a Coalition of stakeholders of the tourism ecosystem, a set of use cases for the development of a Tourism Data Space. In the context of this project, use cases are possible applications of the Tourism Data Space, or else situations in which actors of the tourism ecosystem, in order to improve their business, might find it interesting to share data with other actors.

Coalition Stakeholder group

In order to validate the findings of the project and to work together with a selected number of experts and professionals in the fields of tourism and data, DATES has selected a group of around 30 entities representing public and private entities and the whole tourism value chain, in a balanced geographical coverage.

The entities selected, are helping the DATES consortium to validate the Deliverables produced in the framework of the project as well as they will have an important role when working in the Blueprint.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We're proud to introduce two new social media post threads that we believe perfectly capture the essence of the DATES project mission.

#DATES4Equality #WomeninData

WOMAN
DATES is aligned with important values that are contributing to a more competitive European economy, as sustainability, resilience and also equality. In our consortium, we have a great number of #womenindata.
And we wanted to support the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by gathering some thought from different professional women working in our partner’s entities.
This campaign also contributed to offer visibility to women in STEM, encouraging women to work in the data field.

#Dates Glossary

Data Spaces are a new concept, that generates new terms that can be confusing for newcomers to this field. Therefore, we continue working in our #DatesGlossary. Check all the terms that have been analysed:
